Message from Juvenile Captain Patrick McNiff

juv capt 2016 P McNiff

I am very grateful for the opportunity of being Juvenile captain for 2016 and to be part of the growing club of Banbridge. It is a great honour to be given this position by the Club of which I have been a member for the last 7 years.

My aim for the year is to be friendly, enthusiastic and respectful to all members of the Club and to act as a role model for the younger, less experienced juveniles.  I would like to encourage all juvenile members to ask me any questions or let me know if they have any concerns, on or off the course.  I would also encourage all juvenile members, especially the younger members, to come down on a Wednesday morning and get involved in the juvenile competitions. It is great fun and will really help improve your game.  There is nothing better than taking to the course on a fresh, summer Wednesday morning.

I also hope that we have a good run in the team competitions in all sections of the Club.  I especially hope that we, as Juveniles, can  compete at a high standard in the Ronan Rafferty, Ava Shield, Mehaffey Shield and hopefully continue to improve in the Fred Daly, where we came agonisingly close to winning the plate last year.

This year I am very excited to continue playing the challenging course Banbridge Golf Club provides.  With some recent exciting changes made to the holes,  such as the 3rd, it should create some drama and ultimately make our course a real treat to play.

Once again I am absolutely delighted to be offered such an incredible role in the Club and I would like to add that we have some tremendous talent in our ranks. With good mental attitude, etiquette and behaviour mixed with a bit of fun we can make big things happen this year.  I wish every member a great 2016.

Regards

Patrick McNiff, Juvenile Captain
